Packard Motor Museum - The museum's collection includes over 50 Packard Cars, 65 classic motorcycles, military vehicles, earth-moving machinery and much, much more. Guided tours take you through four large buildings, our guides can offer you information and histories of many exhibits. Our tours are flexible as we like to let our visitors look and linger, reminisce and share their stories too. The collection began back in the early 1950’s. The founder, Graeme Craw, had a strong interest in the Industrial Revolution which took place during the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. He was passionate about preserving the machines and artifacts and accordingly, collected a wide range of machines and artifacts, particularly those pertaining to colonial New Zealand. Graeme also sought to preserve the historical evolution of one car. The Packard caught Graeme’s attention because its makers were first class engineers building America’s most prestigious cars. Hence the collection houses 54 Packards, covering most models from 1919 to 1958 when the last of the Packards were built. The collection is now the largest collection of Packards in Australasia - 1146 State Highway 14, Whangarei, Northland, Phone: 09-434 8214, Email: info@packardmuseum.co.nz, Website: www.packardmuseum.co.nz - Photos by Richard Wooders of madonnewzealand.com - January 2020
