LakeTekapo
- The second-largest of three roughly parallel lakes running north–south along the northern edge of the Mackenzie Basin in the South Island
- It covers an area of 83 square kilometres
- It is at an altitude of 710 metres above sea level
- Fed at its northern end by the braided Godley River
- A popular tourist destination with several resort hotels at the town ship of Lake Tekapo
- The Lake Tekapo Regional Park is administered by Environment Canterbury.
- An astronomical observatory is located at Mount John
