Waihau Bay
- 42 km north of Gisborne on the east coast road
- Popular with campers in summer
- Around five kilometres in length and will generally have a wave of one metre
- There are many rocks and reefs and beach users need to be aware of these.
- The best place for surfing and swimming is at the camping area located at the end of the car access to the beach.
- Waihau Bay has no Surf Life Saving Club or Lifeguard patrols.
