Reefton
- 80 km northeast of Greymouth
- In 1888 Reefton became the first town in New Zealand and the Southern Hemisphere to receive electricity.
- Commercial electricity was generated by the Reefton Power Station.
- The population was 1,026 in the 2013 census.

- A region on the west coast of the South Island
- Administered by the West Coast Regional Council
- The principal town: Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika
- One of the most sparsely populated areas
- Fiordland is on the west coast
- But, it is in the Southland Region rather than the West Coast Region.
- Inhabitants of the West Coast are known as "Coasters".
