The Aorangi
- A passenger vessel built by Fairfield Shipbuilding and Engineering Company, Govan for the Union Steamship Company of New Zealand and launched in 1924.
- Launched in 1924 for the Vancouver - Australia passenger route.
- Fitted out as a troopship in 1941 and chartered until 1948
- Broken up in 1953
Waitematā Harbour
- The main access by sea to Auckland
- Often referred to as Auckland Harbour
- The harbour forms the northern and eastern coasts of the Auckland isthmus
- Crossed by the Auckland Harbour Bridge
- Matched on the southern side of the city by the shallower waters of the Manukau Harbour
- The oldest Māori name of the harbour was Te Whanga-nui o Toi (The Big Bay of Toi), named after Toi, an early Māori explorer.
