New Zealand - Auckland - Bombay School - Form 1 & 2 - 1958 Photo Courtesy of Diane G Bombay School - Bombay's first school was opened in 1865 within a few months of the settlers arriving in the district. It was a humble place, being a large square tent fronting the Bombay-Paparata Road in the south-east corner of what is now A. Wilcox's property. Mr S. Breach, who had chos­en a 10 acre grant nearby was the teacher.
