Blockhouse Bay Primary School
- In 1920 the school was officially opened with its own staff and named Avondale South School
- With a third room added in 1922, it was then named Blockhouse Bay Primary School.
- In Aug 1957 the three original rooms were re-sited to allow for additional classrooms, which though altered, are still in use.
Blockhouse Bay

- It is sited on the northern coast of the Manukau Harbour
