Taihape College - Taihape College began operating at the start of the 1963 school year, however was not officially opened by Prime Minister Keith Holyoake until March 1964 - Due to the decline of both The Taihape College and Taihape Primary School rolls, the College was closed during 2004 and the Taihape Area School was built to amalgamate both Schools. - The Taihape Area School was officially opened in October of 2005, catering for all students from Years 1 - 13
